It is of particular importance to Skyline Express to achieve and prove performance that is environmentally friendly by checking and controlling the impact of our activities and services on the environment. To assess our environmentally friendly performance, we will conduct "environmental audits" in the future. Even today we are already emphasizing our partners' use of modern exhaust technology and bio fuels. We check whether a transport by rail is more efficient than road haulage. We are constantly striving to avoid empty kilometers. Efficient resource utilization and the use of energy-saving IT systems go without saying for us. And as a WWF supporter we are also striving to do justice to our business responsibility toward our environment.
In September 2010 we installed a 53 KW/P solar energy "field" on our roof in Lage. In the next months we are changing to an electric forklift and later in the year will also be getting an electric pick up van, good for collections of up to 500kg in a area of about 50 miles from our location. Both projects are together with clients of ours: (P+M, import solar modules from China and Toyota Tsusho Europe regarding the E-Van) Wir see our enviromental responsbilities and will remain active to protect our resources. Using our own "home made" electricity is a good start thing surely.
